This Thursday Titus Works is very excited about the return of our special guest, Rev. Jonathan Wilkins to teach us on the subject of, "Alive But Secretly Depressed." Is that you?? Do you know someone who is living this way? There are people who have lived in a depressed state for many years and don't realize it. Why,  because it feels so much like the norm.

"Anytime the Bible talks about God's will, what God wants for your life, it is time to pay close attention. There are three things God wants you to do all the time, in all circumstances rejoice, pray, and say thank you. While each of these actions is important on its own, together they provide the secret to a joy-filled life.

The charge to rejoice always seems to need no explanation, except that many life situations don't seem to be cause for rejoicing. However, while happiness ebbs and flows in relation to your situation, genuine joy remains constant regardless of what's going on around you. Your feelings of joy may rise and fall, but your reasons for joy remain steady and strong. That's because the joy the Bible speaks about is rooted in our relationship with GOD, not in our circumstances." There was a great message in a little book I read entitled, Everyday Blessings: 

"You don't have to be alone to feel lonely. It's all about how you are connecting with those around you. Perhaps you are in a place in your life where you feel no one understands you and no one cares. This time in your life probably won't last long. You will make connections and the loneliness will pass, but until it does, remember that God has promised to always be there for you to listen, to comfort, to encourage. He's as close as your prayer."

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF THE THING YOU FEARED THE MOST HAPPENED? 

There is a lot to be said about fear, whether people want to admit they have it or not. I believe that when we attempt to deny that we have fear, is when we open the door to be consumed by that which we are attempting to ignore.

Our guest speaker Bernice Bright Dickey writes in her book, My #1 Is Still My #1, "Lord, you allowed me to experience things for a season then it's time to move on to the next season or level You have planned for me. On this pilgrimage, I have multiple assignments to complete. I must remain  available and sensitive to Your prodding and leading in order to be successful at doing what You have created me to do."

Living in fear keeps us from being able to make that statement. . . so when the thing we fear the most happens we freeze rather than moving when God says move!
