JOURNEY ~ Moving Forward! Each of us have experiences that gives two types of mindsets. One is to attempt at forgetting that which appears to have hurt us in some way. Another is feel joy in our being when reminded of a particular event or ...situation. Well I believe that both have the ability to impact our lives in a positive way, if we allow it. That which we desire to forget is full of lessons that we need to move forward and accomplish the new blessings in our lives. Without those lessons me may visit those same type of events or situations over and over again in our future. The pains of our lives do not exist to simply make our hearts and souls hurt, they exist because there is purpose behind each one. Purpose we may not be aware of at the moment, but in trying to forget those things keeps us from ever seeing what the purpose was. By no means am I suggesting that we dwell on the past, what I am suggesting is that we learn from the past. And allow it to propel us to a better future rather then keeping us hostage in something we cannot change. Then we may be able to feel more joy in our lives than we ever have before!

Focused on the Goal

12-14 I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.

15-16 So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.

What's Under Your Rug?

When you think about RUGS I can bet that none of us never think about this item in relationship to how it connects to our lives. Rugs are generally used for things that could be thought of in the negative, such as, making it comfortable to walk across a cold floor. Maybe when you think of a rug, if you are anything like me, it was to cover up  an unwanted spot on the carpet.

Well, I want us to see how a rug is also used to bring beauty to a room. Not to cover up a ugly spot, not keep your feet from getting cold when you walk. Our rugs can become the ability to
R-elease U-nused G-ems. . .these gems are events from our own lives that have been swept under our own personal rugs of life. At first glance these events appear to be horrible cold , painful and even ugly spots that we experienced.

FORGIVENESS IS NOT AN OPTION. . .IT'S A MUST! 
Can you do it? Can you Forgive no matter what? Your answer may be, "depends on what happened" or "I may forgive but I won't forget." These are two of the most popular answers people usually give. But what we should say, is with God's help forgiveness is possible in any situation. Thank God, because I know I have needed to be forgiven. I am so grateful that for the most part have received it from humans, but from God I have received it EVERY TIME  In Ezekiel 16:63 it reads, "I forgive you all that you have done, says the Lord God!" We are forgiven. No matter what we've done. No matter how or when or what. . .God's forgiveness is waiting for us. The moment we acknowledge our sin and ask to be forgiven, it's done.
Therefore, God invites us to forgive out of gratitude for what He's done for us. He has forgiven us . . .  freely and completely. Remember that no one could hurt you as much as your sin has hurt God. When we look at it that way, forgiveness becomes a PRIVILEGE AND A MUST!
