What's Under Your Rug?

When you think about RUGS I can bet that none of us never think about this item in relationship to how it connects to our lives. Rugs are generally used for things that could be thought of in the negative, such as, making it comfortable to walk across a cold floor. Maybe when you think of a rug, if you are anything like me, it was to cover up  an unwanted spot on the carpet.

Well, I want us to see how a rug is also used to bring beauty to a room. Not to cover up a ugly spot, not keep your feet from getting cold when you walk. Our rugs can become the ability to
R-elease U-nused G-ems. . .these gems are events from our own lives that have been swept under our own personal rugs of life. At first glance these events appear to be horrible cold , painful and even ugly spots that we experienced.

Can you do it? Can you Forgive no matter what? Your answer may be, "depends on what happened" or "I may forgive but I won't forget." These are two of the most popular answers people usually give. But what we should say, is with God's help forgiveness is possible in any situation. Thank God, because I know I have needed to be forgiven. I am so grateful that for the most part have received it from humans, but from God I have received it EVERY TIME  In Ezekiel 16:63 it reads, "I forgive you all that you have done, says the Lord God!" We are forgiven. No matter what we've done. No matter how or when or what. . .God's forgiveness is waiting for us. The moment we acknowledge our sin and ask to be forgiven, it's done.
Therefore, God invites us to forgive out of gratitude for what He's done for us. He has forgiven us . . .  freely and completely. Remember that no one could hurt you as much as your sin has hurt God. When we look at it that way, forgiveness becomes a PRIVILEGE AND A MUST!

Perhaps you are in a place in your life where you feel no one understands you and no one cares. This time in your life probably won't last long. You will make connections and the loneliness will pass, but until it does, remember that God has promised to always be there for you to listen, to comfort, to encourage. He's as close as your prayer."

There is a lot to be said about fear, whether people want to admit they have it or not. I believe that when we attempt to deny that we have fear, is when we open the door to be consumed by that which we are attempting to ignore.

Our guest speaker Bernice Bright Dickey writes in her book, My #1 Is Still My #1, "Lord, you allowed me to experience things for a season then it's time to move on to the next season or level You have planned for me. On this pilgrimage, I have multiple assignments to complete. I must remain  available and sensitive to Your prodding and leading in order to be successful at doing what You have created me to do."

Living in fear keeps us from being able to make that statement. . . so when the thing we fear the most happens we freeze rather than moving when God says move!

FEAR. . .IT IS NOT YOUR FRIEND PHYSICALLY OR SPIRITUALLY! 

In thinking about this subject, I had to think about it in relationship to myself and take a look at the fears I have had and the ones I have currently. Melody Beatte states this about fear, "Fear is cold. Sometimes, we become so afraid of life, people, ourselves, so afraid that we become cold. Cold toward people, toward life, toward God. We may not be aware of how cold we have become. We may have been cold for so long, we just don't see it. Being cold and afraid has become our everyday posture. It's the way we interact with the world around us. Now it's time to put warmth back in our lives."

I don't know about you but I don't want to live my life "COLD!" I want to be the vibrant person I am, stepping out on my journey knowing that God is stepping out with me!! Warming my path that will welcome others! It is time to radiate that warmth to the people around YOU! So, lets FREEZE FEAR by warming up to people, warming up to life and most importantly warming up to yourself! Then God has a chance to shine through!!

GOT DREAMS??? PART TWO. . . 2012 ~ The Year of Fulfilled Dreams!

What are you dreaming about? Are you attempting to determine if what you see or have seen is just a thought that ran through your head? Or could it be that God is trying to tell you something? Well our special Guest Rev. Connie Jackson, gave us some awesome points to consider when attempting to live according to Gods visions for our lives. She informed us there are 4 categories we should consider:
1.  Dreaming the Dream: God sends the dream to us for a heads up of how he plans to use us. . .giving us an opportunity to see ourselves as God sees us looking forward.
2. Dissecting the Dreams: This is what we do when we are trying to understand what the dream means. When what we need to do is learn to sit with the dream and go to God with it.
3. Discerning the Dream: Allowing the Holy Spirit to plant wisdom and insight ~ Passion! 4. Denying or Delaying the Dream: Three things can do that, Immaturity, fear, doubt and disobedience. . .Assume the position!

GOT DREAMS??? 2012 ~ The Year of Fulfilled Dreams!

It is 2012 and I feel as Rev. Connie stated recently, "that everything is going to be alright!" Now I feel that way, but what about you? Do you have desires, dreams and aspirations you have have been holding on to. You have no idea what to do with them. Have you felt like they were just NICE THOUGHTS but that will NEVER happen for me? Oh how I remember those very words coming out of my mouth!! I truly thought the dream I had at that time was just that A DREAM! But God, as he says in his Word, Had a plan and has a plan for my life. . .and just like He has a plan for me, He has one for yours as well!

Realize it is a JOURNEY! Which you have to take for yourself. You have to be in position to receive the plan. Don't let others hold you back and you should not hold others back as well. Don't judge their journey and don't let them judge yours. It is time to allow what's in your heart to come forth and manifest it in natural. Listen to your heart it will speak to you. . .but when you hear it. . .you have to follow it!  DON'T BE SCARED!!! God said, He would never leave you nor forsake you!! So what are you waiting on GET TA STEPPIN!!! It's your season!
